At ComfortNest Home Care, we support clients enrolled in the Client Directed Home Care (CDHC) Invoicing Program by providing professional caregivers and handling invoicing directly-so you can focus on care, not paperwork.

This program allows eligible clients to receive home care services without paying out of pocket, while we manage billing in accordance with Alberta Health Services guidelines.

CDHCI Home Care Services

ComfortNest Homecare Services is an approved CDHCI service provider working in coordination with Alberta Health Services (AHS). This enables us to deliver flexible, client-directed, non-medical home care services to eligible individuals across Alberta.

Our role is to support clients in carrying out their approved care plans with compassion, reliability, and respect—while ensuring services align with CDHCI guidelines.

Client Choice & Control

Who Is Eligible?

  • You may qualify for the Client Directed Home
    Care Invoicing Program if you:
  • Are assessed by Alberta Health Services (AHS) as requiring home care
  • Are approved for the Client Directed Home Care program
    Require ongoing or scheduled home ca services
  • Prefer a provider who manages invoicin on your behalf

Eligibility is determined through an AHS Home Care Case Manager.

Budget & Billing Support

Eligible clients are allocated a care budget through CDHCI to cover approved home care services.
There is no out-of-pocket cost for approved services, and direct billing is managed on your behalf in accordance with program requirements.

Services Supported Under CDHCI

Depending on individual assessments and approved care plans, services may include:

  • Personal care assistance (bathing, dressing, grooming)

  • Home support (light housekeeping, meal preparation)

  • Companionship and emotional support

  • Respite care for family caregivers

  • Post-hospital transition support

Services vary based on eligibility and approved funding.

Self-Managed Care (SMC) Option

The Self-Managed Care (SMC) option allows eligible clients to receive funding directly from Alberta Health Services to manage their own caregivers. This option provides additional flexibility for clients or their representatives who wish to take a more active role in care coordination.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for CDHCI or SMC programs, individuals must:

  • Be assessed by Alberta Health Services as requiring home care

  • Have care needs that can be safely supported at home

  • Be able to manage care responsibilities independently or through a representative

How the Process Works

  1. Assessment – An AHS Home Care Case Manager assesses needs and eligibility

  2. Care Plan Approval – A personalized care plan is developed

  3. Service Delivery – ComfortNest Homecare Services provides approved support

  4. Ongoing Review – Care services may be adjusted as needs change
